UNITAR CITE Project Overview

 

What is CITE?

CITE (Continued IT Project), is UNITAR’s free, self-paced eLearning programme for delegates in New York. 

   

 

Objective?

To Provide Delegates at United Nations Headquarters in New York with flexible skills-based computer learning opportunities.

   

 

Requirements?

A computer and a high-speed Internet Connection.

   

 

Working Language?

The primary language of the programme is English. However, a number of courses may also be available in other languages. (Contact UNITAR for questions about language availability).

   

 

Structure and Methodology?

  • Required attendance at one of 3 orientation sessions

  • One-on-One training as needed (typically at UNITAR offices on Fridays)

  • Certificate upon completion of 4 courses

   

 

What is My SkillSource?

My SkillSource is an interactive eLearning website that UNITAR has contracted for the CITE Project.  Subscribed participants have unlimited access to self-paced courses, online instructor-led courses, reference books from leading publishers, online certifications, community forums, and much more.

Office Productivity Library

The focus in this library is on personal computing and desktop software skills. Here's training for popular desktop applications, including all versions and levels of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Lotus Notes, Crystal Reports, WordPerfect, FrontPage and more. From navigating the Internet to building web pages, you will learn everything they need to know to be more productive with technology every day.

The Computer Professional Library above enhanced with vLab exercises. vLab technology is live, hands-on experience with real equipment in a protected environment. vLabs are not simulations. They are live training labs on real servers, routers, and switches over the internet.

Writing Skills for Business Professionals

Business writing and communication skills are essential. These business writing courses will quickly provide you with the skills to clearly explain concepts, services, and ideas to others. Courses include Letters and Memos, Effective Email Techniques, Sharpen Your Language Skills, Short Reports, Formal Reports, and Business & Technical Proposals, and two Foundation Courses: Get to the Point, and Organize the Details.

Project Management Library

This library covers all key areas of Project Management training, including planning, executing, controlling, and closing a project. Complete Project Management Certification is covered (courses are authorized by Project Management Institute and comply with PMBOK standards). Additionally, both Microsoft Project software and IT Project+ Certification (CompTIA) are covered. Includes over 95 hours of training.

Business Fundamentals Premium

The library delivers training that increases the effectiveness of managers and business professionals. Courses provide principles and guidelines, job aids, and activities that map to real world situations. These premium courses feature business simulations with scenarios that reflect common challenges. Students apply their newly acquired skills by making decisions throughout the simulated scenario, accessing guidance and altering decision history when desired. 128 Courses

CITE Project offers open enrollment through 31 December 2008. Enrollment is limited.  UNITAR reserves the right to make

a selection among the candidates, if necessary.  (b) All participants must have access to a computer and a high-speed

internet connection at a location in their office or home.  (c) Confirmations for participation will be e-mailed.
