Unlike My SkillSource Assessments, which measure pre- and post-training skills at the course level and prescribe customized learning paths based on individualized needs; Online Certification Exams are aimed at measuring skill sets against industry standards and validating proficiency in a variety of subjects without the risk commonly associated with vendor certification programs.

Students are tested on their comprehension of specific subject matter, and when an exam is passed, the student earns industry-accepted certification from Brainbench as a subject matter expert in that specific software or technology. Instant test results provide students with their score, ranking, industry comparisons. Students that do not pass exams receive detailed feedback including suggested areas of study to help them prepare for retesting. My SkillSource Online Certifications are powered by Brainbench, the leading online skills testing and certification authority.  Brainbench is a completely independent testing and certification authority.  Establishing valid, 3rd party certification exams is their core business.  Brainbench exams use Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT), taking advantage of technology to streamline the testing process.  As test takers respond to questions, a CAT test "adapts" itself by selecting the next item to be presented based on the test taker’s performance on preceding questions.
