Content

Skillsoft makes extensive use of Content Delivery Networks (CDN). Using a CDN provides our customers all over the world with the best possible content experience by offering a cached copy of content assets from a location geographically closer to users than our primary data center in the United States. However, this makes it impossible to provide IP address ranges that cover all the possible locations of these servers.

If your network security restrictions require the use of IP White Listing, please contact your Skillsoft Account Team to discuss available options for disabling the use of the CDN.

Video Content - Leadership Development Channel (LDC), 50 Lessons and Skillsoft Leadership Advantage (SLA)

media.books24x7.com

N/A

1935

443

80

The video content is delivered using Adobe’s Media Server.

The Adobe Flash Player will first attempt a direct connection to the server using Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) on port 1935, which is an IANA registered port. (http://www.iana.org/assignments/service-names-port-numbers/service-names-port-numbers.xml)

If the Flash player is unable to connect using Port 1935 the Flash player will then attempt to "tunnel" RTMP, hence the RTMPT protocol, over HTTP Port 80. This means that the RTMP data is encapsulated as valid HTTP data.
