Learning Advisor

The Learning Advisor section of the site is like an electronic Guidance Counselor.   If you want to obtain a particular skill or train for a specific certification, the Learning Advisor will tell you what courses to take, and in what order, to help you obtain your goal.  Learning paths are clearly mapped out, and many have links to vendor certification websites for more information.

If you are a computer professional we highly recommend a visit to the Certification Subjects section of the Learning Advisor.  The Learning Advisor also houses access to Knowledge Certifications and Skill Assessments.  Use these tools to measure your knowledge and guide you to the appropriate level of learning.

Use the Learning Advisor in these ways:

  • Look up specific learning paths for specific technologies.  Examples to look for include MCSE Certification or Internet Professional Series - Security Specialist.
  • Take Online Certifications to validate existing skills or check for skill gaps.  Online Certifications test your knowledge and skill against industry standards.  Upon completion you will receive instant feedback via email with an industry ranking and suggestions for needed training.  Use Online Certifications to validate what you know - a great tool for performance reviews and career advancement.  Learn more about Online Certifications
  • Take pre- or post- training Skill Assessments to direct your learning to specific lessons  based on your skill level.  Skill Assessments help determine what you already know so you can focus your training in areas specific to your personal training needs.  Skill Assessments greatly improve the efficiency of training!  See an Example
