How
to Register for Self-study
Training |
Self-study courses are easily identified by the laptop icon
1. Browse the Course Catalog to
select the Course you would like to take. When you click on the
title of a course, a course overview will appear, along with
objectives and the course curricula. This information will help
you decide if the course is what you are looking for. |
2. With the Course Syllabus open,
under Course Activities, you will see either Take an Assessment
and Start Course (or just Start Course if no assessment is
available) |
3. If Take Assessment appears,
click this link. The assessment will present you with some questions
to determine how much of the course content you are already familiar
with. This is a prescriptive tool designed for self-directed
learning. The results of this assessment will recommend which
tutorials in the course you should take. |

Hint: My SkillSource offers pre and
post-training assessments for most self-study courses. This helps
you measure improvements in your skills and knowledge after the
training is complete. The assessment is not intended to be a scored
test, but rather a prescriptive tool that guides you to the most
appropriate training content. The assessments are easy to work
with – you can start an assessment and finish it later or decide
that you want to finish it without answering all the questions. You
can review all your answers before ending an assessment. Any
question left unanswered defaults to “I don’t know” so the training
for that topic is recommended.

4. To begin learning, simply click
any of the recommended tutorial links. |
